IDIOT’S GUIDE TO IDIOMS
By
Michael Edwin Q.
A bird in the hand is worth two
in the bush,
And a lot messier
A fool and his money are soon
parted,
But how did they get together in
the first place?
Actions speak louder than words,
Unless you know my mother-in-law
Blood is thicker than water,
Unless you live by the Hudson River
Curiosity killed the cat
It also freaked the dog out
As busy as a beaver
And dam proud of it
Don’t count your chickens before
they hatch,
They might be roosters
Don’t look a gift horse in the
mouth
Until he’s brushed his teeth
Don’t put all your eggs in one
basket,
Put them in the refrigerator,
they last longer
The bigger they are the harder
they fall
And if they’re really big, they
roll
You can lead a horse to water,
But you can’t push him to water
It takes two to tango,
But at least four to square dance
Great minds think a lot
Don’t you agree?
